Financial Support

Bright Young Things is committed to providing excellent academic support to every student - no matter what their circumstances are.

As such, we are delighted to announce the launch of our BYT Foundation: a new initiative that will offer help to students who are less able to access extracurricular support.

As an OFSTED registered childcare provider, BYT is able to accept payment through childcare vouchers. Our clients are also entitled to receive working tax credits to use towards tuition.

The Childcare Voucher amount you choose to deduct is taken off your salary before you pay tax and National Insurance. Therefore, you pay less tax and National Insurance as your pre-tax salary is reduced.

To find out if you are eligible to speak to your HR department – regardless of the size of your company, it is a scheme that all employers can register for.

You may qualify for extra tax credits to help pay for some of your childcare costs while you are working. The amount that you’re eligible for will depend your household income and situation, but you may qualify for the tax credits if:

  • You’re a single parent, working over 16 hours per week
  • A couple where both parents are working over 30 hours per week (combined)

If you already claim working tax credits:

You will need to call the Tax Credit Helpline with our information and discuss increasing your working tax credits in the case of childcare changes.

We are a registered childcare provider and based on your annual income, you can be awarded up to 70% of your tuition payments covered.

You will likely need to provide them with the monthly cost of your tuition and the date you will start.

These extra credits will be added to your standard payments and your direct debit with us will come out of your account like our standard membership.

If you don't claim working tax credits and are unsure if you are eligible:

You will need to call the Tax Credit Helpline with our information below and ask if you are eligible for working tax credits.

If so, you will need to provide them with the monthly cost of your tuition and the date you will start.

They will then work out the weekly cost you will need and they will put this money into your account each week.

These credits will be sent to you directly and your direct debit with us will come out of your account like our standard membership.
