At Bright Young Things, we focus on your child as an individual.
We deliver after school Maths and English tuition support for all abilities ranging from the age of 5 to 16.
Our tutors coach students for the 11 plus entry to top U.K day and boarding schools.
All of our tailor made maths and English material has been created in line with the National Curriculum and is designed to work in conjunction with classroom learning.
We work with children at all levels of ability.
Whether whizzing through school, or finding it tricky to keep up, we'll be there to build confidence, enthusiasm and ensure academic success.
We speak to a lot of parents keen to know what marks us out from other learning providers so here are the key things we do differently
Our English tuition is built to guide students through a spectrum of topics covering and building on the fundementals of the nationanl curriculum.
Our tutors work with our English course materials to build on vital reading, comprehension, handwriting, grammar and punctuation skills for students in Key Stages 1 - 4.
Our maths tuition is made up of in-depth focus on key topics such as Addition and Subtraction, Multiplication, Numbers and the Number System, Shape, Space and Measure, Money and Time.
Our tutors will work with your child as an individual; gauging progress and adjusting our scheme of work accordingly so as to build confidence and ability.
We offer home schooling courses at Key Stage 2, 3, GCSE & IGCSEs and A Levels across all subjects in our centre. Find out more here.
Our tutor-led 11 Plus courses use CEM and GL-based (the latter for students sitting the 11 plus in September 2018) practice materials in cohesion with mock tests and exam technique booster sessions.
Our tutors ensure your children can learn how best to respond to questions and keep timing in check. We offer regular in-depth tutor feedback too so you can keep abreast of your child's progress and we help with at home study plans too.
We offer GCSE and IGCSE courses and revision sessions throughout the year.
We have JCQ registered exam centre status in several of our centres and we offer capacity for external candidates to sit GCSE's and A Levels with us.

We offer free trial assessments - these last around an hour and fifteen minutes and your child will have the opportunity to work through one of our assessments with a BYT tutor. Afterwards we’ll have a chat and discuss how we can help.

The glass frontage and open plan learning area work to represent our core principle: transparent learning.
We believe in being utterly transparent with parents and students. In the centre, parents can see the learning process in action and the interaction between tutors and students. In providing parent meetings and ongoing written progress reports, we ensure that open and honest communication surrounds the student’s work and progress.
It’s our belief that a good education and access to high quality tuition and tutors are a right and not a privilege.
That’s why we’re running the BYT Foundation. After the October Half Term 2017, we will be reserving free places for a small percentage of our High Wycombe centre membership for low income families. If your child qualifies for free school meals you may be eligible for the BYT Foundation.
Here’s where you will be able to find details of upcoming events at BYT High Wycombe; from creative writing workshops and 11+ advice sessions to coffee mornings for parents.
We are open throughout the summer holidays. Contact us to book in extra summer hours to prep before the new school year
We have a dedicated online learning platform to support students and teachers preparing for the 11 plus. With an extensive range of English, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning practice tests, BYT Online is an excellent way to help take the pressure off the 11 plus for parents and students alike.
You can pay for your BYT tuition using tax credits and childcare vouchers.
Keep an eye on our blog for regular updates on tutors, tuition, education and U.K. schooling.
